Celebrating Sanan: A Life of Love Amid Alzheimer’s

Monday afternoon, May 4th, 2026, Sanan slipped away to live among the angels. Her fifteen‑year journey with Alzheimer’s finally came to rest. In her classic way of quietly arranging life behind the scenes, she waited for the week when three of her four daughters were in town. They had just shared smiles and laughter over an album of joyful family memories when she peacefully passed into her next glorious life.
For me, Sanan was a devoted companion for fifty years—always at my side, creating “home” wherever we were, no matter the country or the language. Her four daughters adored her. She had a gift for adding her special touch to everyday life and an unmatched talent for making birthdays feel magical. It is a beautiful comfort to see her kindness and her instinct to think of others living on so clearly in them.
