Go to a Park. Sit for a While. Don’t Rush.

Creativity often begins by simply noticing.
One of my favorite places to do that is a park.
Especially the parks of Paris.

If you sit long enough, you begin to see it all—
parents with their children,
someone stealing a quiet moment from a busy day,
children absorbed in play,
older people just glad to be out,
and every shade in between—
joy, fatigue, loneliness, contentment.

It’s like watching a living story unfold.
Here’s a simple exercise:
Go to a park. Sit for a while. Don’t rush.
Let what you see speak to you.

If you’re a writer, maybe something begins to form.
If you’re a musician, perhaps there’s a rhythm.
If you’re simply present, that may be enough.

Creativity doesn’t come from trying harder—
it comes from paying attention.
If you try this, I’d be curious what you notice.
