After Christmas Let Down
So Christmas is over
The tree is all brown
The presents aren’t present
And I’m feeling let down
We had a good time though
With much family around
But it’s so sad to see
All the ornaments down
Dad watched his football
All dressed like a clown
With his jerseys and hats
He cheered every touchdown
And then there was granny
In red dressing gown
She danced to each carol
Her own little hoe down
My cousins arrived
From their distant small town
Since they are much older
I was always put down
But my younger sis’
With her sad little frown
Got to pass out the presents
For me – a step down
So I’ll wait till next year
For lights twinkling downtown
But tonight I’m up late
For the New Year’s count down
